Piggy is very simple yet powerful and efective micropayment system for your shop and for your customers. It is ideal for fitness centers, restaurants, coffee lounges, canteens or wherever large amount of regular customers are concentrated and pay for small amounts frequently.
System manages prepay or postpaid accounts of your customer. In the same time it manages adjacent contactless cards for fast and secure identification of paying customer and deduction of the credit. Piggy is not bank service. It just helps you to manage credit which you receive from your customers and records customer's spending every time he or she buys something at your premise.
How it works from merchant's perspective
Instead of expensive and proprietary POS card terminal, Piggy uses standard comodity devices as a contactless card terminal. This card-taking device is either PC with external card reader, NFC-equipped mobile phone or tablet. Once merchant's account is configured (e.g. product catalog and customers are created) shop assistant selects goods or services customer buys and once ready asks customer to tap the terminal with his or her chip or card.
How it works from customer's perspective
Before customer can shop using Piggy contactless card, he or she needs to associate his or her card with merchant of choice and typically deposit some money at merchant's shop. Merchant creates customer account in Piggy web application, note credit amount paid and scans card to link it with the customer.
From that moment, customer can spend her or his credit up to the balance threshold merchant defines. It is possible for merchant to operate postpay accounts by setting the negative balance threshold to allow the customer to have a debt.
